India vs Australia series has been done and dusted but the aftermath of the series is unexpectedly making the news. The series was a highly contested one and the players gave it their all to win it. Everything was tried on the pitch by the players the war of words were a plenty during this series and that certainly has made it difficult for the players to leave everything on the field again.
However, Steve Smith and co have already moved on and are looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Smith will lead the Pune-based franchise while Warner will defend the title with Sunrisers Hyderabad. There are other Aussie players who were going to play in the IPL had to pull out of it. Mitchell Starc, the aggressive Australian speedster suffered from a fractured toe during the India vs Australia series and returned home after the Bangalore Test.
Starc, however, seemed to have messaged Virat Kohli on Twitter. We know about the message because Mitchell Starc by mistake messaged a fake account of the name Virat Kohli. After Virat’s recent post-match conference where he said that the Australians are no longer friends, a comment which he later clarified over Twitter, Mitchell, who happens to be his teammate in the IPL messaged him.
The fake account of Virat Kohli posted a screenshot of the message. The account owner captioned the photo saying that Mitchell Starc texted me instead of real Virat Kohli. However, the photo can be easily doctored as there are various ways to do it. The photo, for now, seems to be authentic as no one has any clue.
However, the message from Mitchell Starc, if he really did message was a hilarious one. He indulged in a friendly banter as he asked Virat if he will accept him or does he have to find a new team in the IPL. He also wished him good luck for the upcoming IPL season and hoped his team goes all the way.
He also wished him a speedy recovery from his injury and congratulated him on the series win. Here is the tweet which actually disclosed the message.
