Mithali Raj swamped with accolades for her achievement in T20I cricket thanks two special people

The batting mainstay of Indian women’s cricket Mithali Raj is at the top of most lists for batters as far as the female version of cricket is concerned. Very recently during the outing against Ireland, she also took the pole position for a record where Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in the race for the top spot. On the occasion, she received congratulatory messages from around the world and the two special names were Madhuri Dixit and Hrithik Roshan.

Mithali who opened the batting for Women in Blue in their third match of the Women’s World T20 2018 scored a hard-fought half century. On the way she also became the highest run-getter for India in T20 International cricket. The 35-year-old now has 2283 runs in her account whereas Rohit who is the second best behind her and the highest in men’s T20I cricket for India has 2207 runs.

The Indian captain Virat Kohli who has been on a record-breaking spree in international cricket himself is not too far behind on 2102 runs. The Indian batting order led by Mithali posted 145 runs and restricted the Irish innings for 93, to win the match by 52 runs and qualify for the semi-final of the Women’s World T20.

This was also Mithali’s second half century in consecutive matches and is proving to be the backbone of this young and dynamic Indian batting line-up.

Hrithik thinks she broke a glass ceiling with her achievement. “The glass ceilings are shattering everywhere! Congratulations Mithali!” the Bollywood superstar wrote.
