Mithali Raj wonders whether Joe Root aped Shah Rukh Khan

Indian Women’s cricket team skipper, Mithali Raj posted a photo of the England batsman Joe Root on Instagram praising him for his honest effort to match with the signature pose of Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan.

England having won the Test series 2-0 and is preparing for the ODI series. Joe Root is one of the best batsmen in the cricketing world currently with over 6500 international runs. Till date, he had played 42 Test matches, 68 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 20 T20 Internationals and has an average of almost 53 in Tests, over 44 in ODIs, and 39.60 in T20Is. He is also handy with his part-time off-spin, with which he had claimed 12 wickets each in Tests and ODIs and 6 wickets in the shortest format of the game.

The 25-year old was phenomenal in the recently concluded World T20 2016, where he was the leading run-getter for his side. England ended up as the runners-up in the tournament after losing to West Indies in the finals in India. He scored 249 runs in the tournament and ended up as the third highest run-getter behind Tamim Iqbal and Virat Kohli.

The 5-match ODI series between England and Sri Lanka will commence from June 21. They will also meet for the only T20I in the series on July 5.
