Mohammad Asif is an amazing bowler: Hashim Amla

South African star batsman Hashim Amla has lauded the ousted Pakistan bowler Mohammad Asif terming him as an amazing bowler. According to the Facebook page of Cricout, Hashim Amla feels Mohammad Asif is an amazing bowler. He also said that Asif is the best seamer he has ever faced. “Mohammad Asif is an amazing bowler and I found him one of the best seamers I have ever faced,” Amla said, praising the fast bowler. On Wednesday, the stylish Proteas opener had also said that he admired the legendary Pakistan batsman Younis Khan throughout his career.

Mohammad Asif has served the ban from International cricket following the spot fixing scandal that hit Pakistan in 2010. The bowler has scalped 106 wickets in just 23 Tests at a brilliant average of 24.36. The loose wrists of Asif used to swing the ball to a large extent which troubled world class batsmen at times. He has 7 five-wicket hauls to his name courtesy his ability to swing the ball both ways.

He was also the part of Pakistan’s run to the final in the inaugural edition of World T20 where they lost to India by 5 runs. The 34-year-old has also done well for his country in the 50-over cricket picking 46 wickets in 38 matches, 3/28 being his best bowling figures. He is currently vying for his place back in the team but hasn’t played any competitive cricket since December 2016.
