Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez can be in trouble for breaching the bio-secure protocols. The cricketer has been isolated from the team and will be allowed to join again only if he tests negative for the novel coronavirus.
The Pakistan cricket team is up against England for an ongoing three-match Test series and is also expected to play a three-match T20I series starting from August 28 at Manchester. Hafeez isn’t a part of the Test squad but will feature in the shortest format
Before touring England, Mohammad Hafeez had tested positive for Covid-19. However, he decided to get tested privately and the test came out negative. Therefore, in order to be sure, he underwent two more tests, and it returned negative. So he was allowed to tour the UK with the rest of the squad.
Mohammad Hafeez got clicked with a lady
The Pakistan team is staying at a hotel near Ageas Bowl and earlier today, they were allowed to use the golf course but as per the bio-secure protocols, they were advised to not engage in social interaction with the outside public. However, forgetting about the rules, the all-rounder went ahead and got a photograph clicked with a member of the public without adhering to the social distancing rules or any other precautions.
He had also shared the picture on his Twitter handle with the caption, “Met an inspirational Young lady today morning at Golf course. She is 90+ & & living her life healthy & happily.Good healthy routine.”

Result of the COVID-19 test expected on Thursday
It was evident from the photograph that Mohammad Hafeez had breached the two-metre social distancing protocol. On the consultation of the medical staff, the 39-year-old has been kept in isolation until he returns a negative Covid-19 test. Hafeez underwent the test later on Wednesday and the result is expected on Thursday.
Confirming the news, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement stating that the cricketer would be under observation and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been updated about the latest development.
“The decision to put Hafeez in isolation has been taken for his and the safety and security of everyone around him. The team management believes it was an inadvertent mistake, but a good reminder for everyone on the importance of following the bio-secure protocols, which have been designed for the health and safety of everyone involved in the series. The team management has updated the England and Wales Cricket Board of its decision.” the statement read.
