Fakhar Zaman has been in the news recently for his sensational form with the bat in the ODI series against South Africa. After winning the player of the series award in South Africa, Zaman said that he used a bat given by senior Pakistan player, Mohammad Hafeez, to score all those runs in South Africa.

During an interaction, Hafeez expressed his gratitude to Zaman and also joked how that created a problem for him. The right-handed batsman said that after Zaman revealed that he used Hafeez’s bat, there have been many people who have demanded bats from him. Hafeez also said that he is planning to open a batting factory to meet the demands.

“It was really nice of Fakhar Zaman to have praised me and spoken about the bat I gave him. However, he has caused me a lot of problems as I have been inundated with demands for thousands of bats and it seems I will have to open up a cricket bat factory,” said Hafeez in a video posted by Khelshel on Twitter.

Attitude, hunger and determination Fakhar has shown is something others can learn from: Mohammad Hafeez

Hafeez went on to praise the Pakistan opener for his efforts with the bat. The two have played with each other in the Lahore Qalandars franchise for a few years now. Hafeez credited Zaman’s attitude and determination to make a good comeback into international. Hafeez has also joined the Pakistan T20I squad for the series against South Africa.

He added, “Instead of the bat, the credit should go to Fakhar Zaman because it was a very special inning from him. It’s always tough for anyone to make a comeback and the attitude, hunger, and determination Fakhar has shown is something others can learn from.” Zaman’s good form with the bat also helped him to get a call-up to the T20I squad after not being named initially.

During the ODI series against South Africa, Zaman scored successive centuries. He made an outstanding 193 in the second ODI which almost took his side to an unlikely win. He continued his form into the third ODI as well, where he scored another hundred to help Pakistan get a series win.
