Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has come out with arguably the most fitting reply to the Australian media over their remarks on the Indian captain Virat Kohli. The ongoing India v Australia Test series has seen a lot of on-field banters and the off-field digs. The tempers have been soaring and the Indian captain has been in the mix of things on most occasions – be it for his vocal nature or his aggressive gestures. It came as no surprise that the Australian media had their share of hatred vented out at Kohli.
They started off by calling him a sports villain and then bracketed him along with animals in a post on social media. Soon, they rubbished all allegations that Kohli had made against the Australian team and their skipper Steve Smith. Some went on to call him the worst behaved cricketer as well. Now, most recently, some of the Australian media houses drew comparisons between Kohli and the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Amidst all this, came the reply from Mohammad Kaif. Kaif is one of the most active cricketers on the social media. Time and again, he ensures that he stays in touch with his fans by having frequent question and answer sessions on Twitter. In a recent such interaction, a fan asked Kaif about his opinions on the Aussie media comparing Kohli to Donald Trump.
Mohammad Kaif, in a very fitting response, said that the media houses have probably missed out on a correct reference. They ended up comparing Kohli with the wrond Donald. He feels the time is not far when they will compare him with the Donald that he deserves, Sir Donald Bradman. Kaif tweeted, “They compared him with the wrong Donald. Shortly some of them.will compare him with the great Donald Bradman. #AskKaif”.
