After watching Sri Lanka struggle to even bat past Lunch in reply to India’s mammoth first inning score, Former Indian middle order batsman and Gujarat Lions’ assistant coach Mohammad Kaif, expressed his disappointment on Twitter regarding the total mismatch at Colombo. Kaif almost termed the contest in the Island nation as a mismatch.

The home side has been dismal since the commencement of the series. After losing the First Test Match at Galle, the Sri Lankans are on course to lose the Second Test match at Colombo as well as the 3-match Series. The Lankan Lions could not even manage to last 50 overs, as they were dismissed for a score of 183 in the first innings. India posted a monumental target 622 in front of the home side.

As a result, the Lankans were enforced a follow on and are currently a whopping 387 runs behind the number 1 Test side in the world. Even in the First Test, Sri Lanka hardly managed to offer any resistance to the brilliance of the Indian team as they suffered a comprehensive loss by 304 runs.

To which, Mohammad Kaif wondered if it’s an international match or a joke while taking a jibe at the stark contrast of class between the two sides. He tweeted by saying, “International match hai ya mazaak. No contest at all. #INDvSL”.

Here’s the Tweet

In the first innings, Cheteshwar Pujara continued his rich form from the last season and brought up his 13th Ton in Test cricket. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane brought up a ton after 18 innings (10 Test matches). Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also contributed with half centuries. Sri Lankans in reply had no answer to the spin web constructed by Ashwin and Jadeja as they ran through the batting lineup effortlessly. Ashwin brought up his 26th 5-wickets haul in Test Cricket.
