The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz on Monday for a couple of months due to investigations into spot-fixing related to the Pakistan Super League. According to a press release by the PCB, Investigations suggest that he was during the Pakistan Super League. The statement said that Nawaz’s suspension can be reduced to one month if he fulfils certain criteria.

The press release said he has to pay a fine of Rs 0.2 million to PCB as a compensation and suspension can only be reduced if Nawaz doesn’t breach the code of conduct further. As per reports in the DAWN, a notice was issued against his name earlier in the week by PCB’s Security and Vigilance Department as he violated Article 2.4.4 of the anti-corruption code.

The press claimed that Nawaz had not complained to the PCB’s security department when he was sent invitations by the bookies to initiate in the spot-fixing. Off late the Pakistan cricketers have been in the limelight due to their alleged involvement in spot-fixing during the PSL and to get rid of that, PCB is taking the matter up pretty seriously and will give punishment to those found guilty.
