India’s bowling spearhead Mohammed Shami is often in the news for his bowling abilities but the tearaway pacer is now bagging headlines after bringing home a stunning new luxury sports car on Friday. Shami is now a proud owner of a brand new red-coloured Jaguar F-Type.

The impressive motor vehicle boasts of a powerful V8 331 kW engine, which can accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in 3.7 secs and is priced at an eye-watering sum of ₹98.13 lakhs (ex-showroom). The car has a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, tuned with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, allowing a seamless transition on the streets.

The Indian pacer was pictured with the director of Shiva Motors, Amit Garg, who shared pictures with the Indian pacer on his LinkedIn account where he can be seen handing over the car. He also shared a picture of the Indian pacer gifting him a signed cricket ball.

The 31-year-old is not new to owning luxury cars as he has already acquired cars such as Toyota Fortuner, BMW 5 series, and an Audi. Recently, the cricketer hailing from Uttar Pradesh flaunted his newly acquired iconic bike Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, via a post on his official Instagram account.

Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian to 150 wickets in ODIs

Shami was part of the Indian Test team who were defeated by England in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston earlier this month. The star bowler then featured for the Men in Blue in the three-match ODI series against the same opposition and scalped four wickets in the series, which was triumphed by the Indian team.

During the first ODI in the recently concluded series, the veteran pacer accounted for three English batters and reached the milestone of 150 wickets in ODI cricket, the fastest Indian bowler to do so. He reached the landmark in 80 matches, surpassing Ajit Agarkar’s record who took 97 matches. He also became the joint third-fastest to reach the landmark of 150 wickets, tied with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and behind Australia’s Mitchell Starc (77 matches) and Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq (78 matches).
