Active Indian international Mohammed Shami has found himself in much trouble lately. Be it in real life or on social media. Nothing is going right for the cricketer. In a disgraceful incident, Shami’s house attacked by 3 youths from the locality.

The incident took place on Saturday evening when Shami was returning home with his wife on his car. The driver hit the car with a parked motorcycle near Shami’s residence. Tensions between the bike owner and the driver grew after the clash and Shami had to intervene to calm down the matter.
Scenes turned ugly that night when the youth came back with some of his friends and tried to enter the cricketer’s house forcefully. It was a step towards revenge from the boys and they treated the gatekeeper badly as well as threw abuses at him.

Mohammed Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan has finally opened up on the dreadful night. According to her, the family have faced several problems after shifting here and they do not feel secure at all.

“When we reached home on Saturday, three cars were already parked in front of our house. Yet, we managed to leave space for other vehicles to pass. But this man picked up an argument. It seemed to have been settled down but they just barged into our house minutes later. They kept kicking on our door for 10 minutes. I am still living in fear and shock. Ever since we came here, we have faced one problem or the other. Though nothing major has happened so far, we do feel insecure,” said Hasin Jahan, Shami’s wife.

The incident took place at the Jadavpur area of Kolkata and the three accused youths were arrested by the Kolkata Police. They were also charged for beating up the caretaker and misbehaving with him. Shami’s neighbours at Katju Nagar, an area which falls under Jadavpur are yet to digest the horrific incident of an international cricketer being targeted in their locality.

“Unruly bikers have turned the Golf Green connector into a horror stretch. This has become a way of life there. Now, even bylanes in Bikramgarh, Katju Nagar, Poddar Nagar and Bapuji Nagar are facing the same problem. If a famous cricketer like Md Shami is not spared, imagine the plight of common people here,” shuddered Arunangshu Mukherjee, one of Shami’s immediate neighbours at Katju Nagar, was quoted as saying by TOI.
