Mohd Aamir signed to play non-first class level cricket

Mohammed Aamir has been signed by Omer Associates to play a non-first class level Patron’s Trophy Grade II championship next month.Aamir was given permission to resume playing domestic cricket by the anti-corruption unit of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has brightened his chances of returning to international cricket soon.

Mohammed Aamir’s ban was to end on 2nd September 2015 but the ICC has used discretionary powers to lift the ban and allow him to play in domestic cricket.

The talented left arm pacer recently played his first match after been banned by ICC last week and claimed three wickets.

Aamir has signed the contract and we are happy to give him a platform to make his comeback to domestic cricket,” the official said.

“We are hoping that the presence of Amir will lead to a change of fortunes,” he added.

Omer Associates regularly features in T20 tournaments in Ramazan and in-club tournaments and employs Pakistani cricketers to play the tournaments.It has remained unbeaten in the Ramazan T20 and other major T20 events but,it has not been successful in qualifying beyond the grade II Championship.

Omer Associates is owned and run by leading businessman and well- known philanthropist Nadeem Omar. Nadeem Omar is a cricket fanatic and has shown support to teams whenever the need arises. He recently donated nearly seven million rupees to send Pakistan Hockey team to the Champions trophy in India.
