In a bizarre turn of events, Indian pacer Mohit Sharma has blamed his hair loss for the dip in bowling form. Call it humorous or superstitious, Sharma had his reasons for feeling this way. In a recent conversation with the Hindustan Times, Sharma said the receding hair line affected his confidence. This is turn made him feel worse and that affected his confidence. Being low on confidence did not help his form one bit.

“I realised I was losing hair, and it really affected my confidence big time, which in turn affected my bowling,” quoted Mohit Sharma. The pace bowler from Haryana had once been a revelation for team India. He performed exceedingly well in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings and soon turned up for the national team. He was a part of the Indian team that toured Australia in 2015 for the ICC World Cup. He had bagged 13 wickets in 8 matches in the premier tournament.

Since then he has been struggling to find his feet at the bowling crease. Despite being a member of the Indian team for the ICC World T20 earlier this year, he could not get a game. Well, it would only be nice if Sharma finds a better explanation for under performing. Mohit Sharma has come up good in the recent past though. In the ongoing Ranji Trophy, he has already bagged two five-wicket hauls for Haryana.

Was that because the hair line has improved or there was a different reason behind it? That remains unanswered. If hair had anything to do with the form, players like Hashim Amla, Virender Sehwag, Darren Lehmann and many more would have never tasted success. The technologies have improved now. If the receding hair line is indeed bothering the young pacer, he can go for a transplant.

Who knows, that might help him get back the hair and subsequently good bowling form too. He would not be the first one to it. Harsha Bhogle has done it and done it in style in the past. Gautam Gambhir had once said that cricket has done a lot of things for him but taken his hair away from him. Mohit Sharma seems to have taken it to a whole new level!
