Moises Henriques and Rory Burns Undergo Successful Surgeries: Surrey Cricket Board on Thursday confirmed that both Surrey players Moises Henriques and Rory Burns are in decent shape after the minor dental surgery that they underwent following their collision on the field.

The incident on the outfield happened during Surrey’s Natwest T20 blast match at Arundel. The players were immediately taken off the pitch by paramedics as both of them had lost consciousness for a while. Henriques collided with his team mate speedily and both of them fell face downn. The medical staff from both clubs quickly ran onto the pitch to administer appropriate medical measures.

A statement from Surrey read: “Latest news on the two boys..Both Rory and Moises are in decent shape following their operations overnight..further updates later in the day.” The news came in as a soothing balm to many people as the crowd of over 8000 people watched the collision between Burns and Henriques. Both needed oxygen treatment and three ambulances were called onto the pitch before they left the ground. The players were able to offer a thumbs-up to nervous spectators before being taken to St Richards’ Hospital in Chichester for further treatment and assessment by doctors.

Sussex physiotherapist John Marrale, who was one of the first to rush onto the pitch as the horror unfolded, confirmed the men were unconscious after the collision.

He said: “They were given oxygen and pain relief was administered by an intravenous drip before they went to hospital. Fortunately they were sitting up when they left the ground, but it was a sickening incident.
