The Bangladeshis are set to lock horns against the mighty Aussies in the month of August. As the team gear up for the real deal left handed batsman Mominul Haque looks oozing with confidence. The left-handed batsman has developed himself as a Test player and gets much-needed breaks during the shorter formats which other players do not enjoy.

Mominul last cricketing action for the country was in March this year when he played the Galle Test. It has not been long since then, but the cricketer is always troubled with the question of how does it feel to return after a notable break.

What Mominul had to say:

“Initially it was difficult but now it’s okay. I always try to keep this issue out of my mind and it only comes to mind when you people remind me. If you don’t mind it would be nice if you didn’t remind me,” said the 25-year-old at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.

Mominul’s last one Day International in the green and red colours of Bangladesh was in 2015 in the month of February during the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Speaking about the big Test series against the Kangaroos next month at home, Mominul pointed out that the Bangladeshi’s cannot be ruled out and the team is confident of beating the Aussies.

“The way we have been playing Test cricket for the past few years has given me the confidence that we can win the Test series against Australia. We are even capable of winning it by a 2-0 margin. But it would also not be bad if we can make it 1-1,” said a confident Mominul.

He highlighted the fact the battle against Steve Smith and his men will be a harder wave to deal with than the home series against England.

“I think the challenge will be little bit more than England. Australia recently played in India while England went to India after playing against us. If you see the overall scenario then you can understand my point. And most importantly Australia can adjust to any conditions,” the veteran of 22 Tests and 26 ODIs opined. “Their pace and spin bowling departments are equally good, so we need to prepare accordingly.” added Mominul.
