Reaching the three-figure mark is one of the best feelings a batsman is ever likely to experience. It takes some extraordinary grit and a relentless fight to get there. Every run in a Test cricket match has a lot of value and amassing a hundred runs is not an easy job at all. Very few batsmen from around the world has managed to reach the three-figure mark on a consistent basis. Whereas the Indian skipper Virat Kohli seems to be doing that almost every time he takes field.

There have been several instances when a batsman is left stranded in the 90’s. As recent as the first inning of the ongoing 2nd Test between South Africa and India. Aiden Markram was dismissed on 94 and missed out his second Test ton. It is not an easy walk back to the pavilion when you get out in the 90s. After having toiled so hard for all the while, any batsman would be gutted on getting out in the 90s.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, the one man who has a hundred of international hundreds got out in the 90s, 27 times across formats in his career. At the same time, there are many batsmen who have a wonderful conversion rate. They have no nerves in the nineties and get through to the three-figure mark at ease.

The run machine from India, Virat Kohli already has 53 international centuries. Achieving such a figure in a short span is self-sufficient to talk about his conversion skills. The instances when he got out in the 90s can hardly be counted on fingers.

Since 2014, Virat hasn’t been dismissed in the 90s even once. He has converted all his 16 nineties into 100s. The century that he achieved today levelled him with the ‘Little Master’, Sunil Gavaskar. Sunny G too had 16 consecutive successful conversions from the 90s to 100s between 1978 and 1983.

Considering his great conversion rate and given the brilliant form that he is in, it shouldn’t be tough for Virat to go past Gavaskar’s record. The second best batsman on this list as of now is the former India captain, Mohammad Azharuddin. Azhar scored three consecutive centuries in his first three test matches. He never failed to convert his 90s into 100s 14 consecutive times between 1984 and 1994.s

Here are the three players with most consecutive conversions:
