The first week of Indian Premier League (IPL) has already been on the expected lines, as we witnessed some action-packed thrillers involving last over finishes. On a couple of occasions, we saw Chennai Super Kings, on their IPL return, almost gave their fans a certain heart-break before getting out of a corner on both the occasions.

The men in yellow have managed to start their campaign with a bang, winning two games on the trot. First in the league opener against the formidable Mumbai Indians side, and second at their home ground chasing a mammoth total against a relatively younger Kolkata Knight Riders. The two encounters saw two different heroes both rescuing their team from an absolute muddle of things.

Aakash Chopra points out a ‘Mother of all coincidences’

Chennai Super Kings so far is loving some cliffhanger encounters as they have met with two thrillers at the start of the tournament. In both the games, the team would believe they got out of a jail. If it was Dwayne Bravo in the first game against Mumbai then it was Sam Billings at Chepauk, who didn’t disappoint the yellow army that erupted in Chennai, the other day.

The two games have panned out on the same lines for the men in yellow. Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra pointed out an interesting fact from these two CSK matches. Aakash, who is currently a part of Star Sports Hindi Commentary panel, follows the game from close quarters and this observation of his is a testimony to the same fact.

He took to Twitter to mention about this fact. “Against MI, 51 needed off 4 overs. 27 off the last 2 overs. Won with a ball to spare. Against KKR, 51 needed off 4 overs. 27 off the last 2 overs. Won with a ball to spare. Mother of all coincidences.”

Here’s the tweet:

The CSK fans would be hoping that the team doesn’t give them any more heart-attacks and continue their golden run of play. This has been the beauty of Indian Premier League as even the league matches reckon to be as exciting as things have panned out. These are just the early days of the tournament and the IPL fever is already riding on many who have waited in anticipation for the season to begin.
