India sealed a historic series win in the fifth ODI against South Africa in Port Elizabeth as they defeated them by 73. The visitors took an unassailable lead of 4-1 in the series and the sixth and final match will be a dead rubber now. There are chances that India might make a lot of changes and give chance to the players who warmed the bench throughout the series. However, Yuzvendra Chahal might want to play the last ODI as well as he wants to make it 5-1 in the series against the hosts.

After bamboozling the opposition in the first three ODIs with his spin, Chahal was taken apart by South Africa batsmen in the rain-curtailed game at the Wanderers. He conceded a whopping 68 runs in 5.3 overs which led to India losing the match despite bossing it for the major part. Moreover, he also bowled a no-ball which had castled David Miller who went on to turn the game on its head later.

The pressure was on the wrist-spinning duo of India to weave their magic after the opposition had sorted them out in the Pink ODI. Especially the leggie was under the scanner as he didn’t respond well to the pressure and made unacceptable mistakes. Chahal bowled beautifully while defending a middling score of 274 and also scalped Miller to take the perfect revenge of the last match. His figures at the end of the game read 2/43 in 9.2 overs and fittingly ended the game for his team.

He was delighted after the victory and took to Twitter informing his followers that Team India will go for the jugular and make it 5-1 in the series. His tweet read, “Was extra motivated to do well and wrap up the series today. Thank you everyone for your wishes. Onto the next one. Focussed on making it 5-1 #bleedblue #INDvsSA.”

The sixth and final ODI will be played in Centurion now on Friday after which the three-match T20 International series will commence on February 18.
