MS Dhoni as quirky as ever puts retirement talks away: The Indian Cricket Team, the World Champions since 2011, the defending champions in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is out of the race for the world cup trophy. MS Dhoni the skipper, who was expected to repeat history, with the help of this young team failed a step before the final. As the Indian team lost to co-hosts and former champs Australia in the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, are out of the tournament and Australia move from SCG to the MCG and will meet New Zealand in the finals.
Indian skipper as soon as the game ended was asked whether he plans to quit from ODI cricket, as Dhoni himself is an unorthodox and unpredictable character, many thought an exit from the cup will prompt the Ranchi lad to take the decision.
In the post match presentation ceremony the skipper said, “I am 33, I’m still running, still fit. Next year, T20 World Cup, will be time to decide about 2019 or not.”
When the opponent, Aussie skipper Michael Clarke was asked the similar question whether Dhoni will be there around 2019 to play the next world cup Clarke said, “I’m sure he will be, he has a lot of cricket in him.”
The same question was repeated to the skipper in the press conference following the semi finals clash with Australia, a quirky Dhoni replied to it in his own way asking the media to research on it, take some time and assess whether he should continue or not and then publish the exact opposite of it.
“I think you all should do research and whatever you write, the opposite will be the truth,” saying this he completely calmed the speculations that the Indian captain might retire from ODI cricket following India’s semi final defeat.
