MS Dhoni broke silence and answered a few questions on the Indian Premier League fixing scam. Critics were too heavy on him for maintaining his no answer approach on the issue that involved the franchise Chennai Super Kings he plays and captains for.
Even Dhoni’s name was dragged in the investigation and even once in the Supreme Court which is hearing the case. He choose to give it a skip every time a question regarding this popped u, he was also accused of shielding former CSK team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan who is under trial for involvement in betting and spot fixing along with leaking key team information about CSK to bookies in front of the Mudgal Committee which was probing the case.
MS Dhoni is now in UAE to play the first half of the IPL 7th season which is moved out of India due to security concerns as it clashes with the General Elections in India which are under way. Speaking to the media this time he broke the ice though not giving a serious answer said that we should try laundry to keep the IPL clean.(also read CSK team preview)
Dhoni has also been tracking the proceedings of the case if not openly but otherwise and was quick to file a defamation suit worth INR 100crore against a couple of Media firms and their editors who had been airing content showing Dhoni guilty in the case.
Earlier the Apex Indian Court had ordered N Srinivasan the most powerful man in cricket governance to move out of the BCCI for a fair probe to happen. He had to quit and Sunil Gavaskar was appointed the new President by the SC. The heat is turned on as the next season is just about to start and the case and matters under jurisdiction are still unsettled.
