After the thrilling win over Australia in the second ODI, Team India, on Wednesday, moved to Ranchi – a city which gave the nation one of its greatest-ever cricketers MS Dhoni. There is little denying the fact that Ranchi was a cricketing backwater before Dhoni changed its reputation by reaching unprecedented heights at the highest stage of the game. Well, the veteran batsman is now gearing up to entertain his home town as India will take on Australia in the third ODI in Ranchi on March 8.

Dhoni, nonetheless, has also made sure to make his teammates’ sojourn in the city a memorable one. Usually, the players board the team bus after coming out of the airport to go to the hotel. However, they were in for a pleasant surprise when they came out of the Ranchi airport. Dhoni’s stunning Hummer was waiting for them and the wicketkeeper-batsman then made it even more memorable by sitting behind the wheels.

The fan page of the Indian cricket team posted the video of the moment, showing Dhoni take the driver’s responsibility. Kedar Jadhav was sitting beside Dhoni while Rishabh Pant was about to take his seat as the fans mobbed the Hummer to get a glimpse of the favourite son of the city and his teammates.

Dhoni looks to bounce back:

Dhoni, meanwhile, had a rare failure with the bat on Tuesday when he was out for a golden duck. It ended his four-match half-century streak against Australia which had begun during the tour of Australia earlier this year.

It was Dhoni’s fifth golden duck and first since 2010. Interestingly, his last golden duck in ODIs, which had come in 2010, was also registered against Australia during the Vizag game. Dhoni had recorded his first golden duck in his debut match against Bangladesh in Chittagong in 2004. His other four golden ducks have come twice against Sri Lanka and twice against Australia.

Dhoni will now be looking to bounce back from the poor outing in Nagpur with an impressive display in front of his home crowd.
