‘MS Dhoni is the best footballer in Indian cricket team’: Rohit Sharma
The Spanish league LaLiga announced Rohit Sharma as their first brand ambassador in India.

There is no hiding to the fact that 2019 has been a remarkable year for the Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma. He and his better-half Ritika Sajdeh welcomed the arrival of their little angel on December 30, 2018, who they named Samaira. Since then, everything went well for Rohit. He led Mumbai Indians to glory in IPL 2019 by beating Chennai Super Kings by one run in the final.
Rohit Sharma touched the pinnacle of success after scoring a series of hundreds in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 and also becoming the first cricketer to score five centuries in a World Cup tournament.
When he was given a chance to play as an opener against South Africa, he made his presence count by grabbing the opportunity tightly in both hands. He hit the peak performance by scoring a terrific century against South Africa in the first Test in Visakhapatnam. He then followed it up with a staggering 176 in the first innings and then chipped in with 127 in the second innings, becoming the first batsman to smash twin hundreds in maiden Test as an opener.
Meanwhile, the Spanish league LaLiga announced Rohit Sharma as their first brand ambassador in India. Jose Antonio Cachaza, Managing Director, LaLiga India had announced that Rohit Sharma became the Spanish league’s first-ever non-footballer brand ambassador.

Rohit Sharma who had an amazing year across formats said that he was thrilled when LaLiga asked him to be their brand ambassador. Rohit went on to disclose the best football player in the Indian cricket team. “While growing up I have seen a lot of football matches it was always a good break from cricket. I think MS Dhoni is the best footballer in our team.”
MS Dhoni’s footballing skills have never been in doubt. He started his sports career as a football goalkeeper and the rest is history. The clinical finisher is still a pro at football and is known for the knack of dribbling. It was no surprise when Rohit Sharma rated MS Dhoni as the best football player in the Indian cricket team. MS Dhoni is a massive fan of English football club- Manchester United.
Taking a trip down memory lane, two years ago, MS Dhoni flaunted his footballing talent when he scored a brace while playing for the All Hearts team skippered by Virat Kohli against Junior Bachchan’s All Stars team. The former Indian captain was fittingly awarded ‘Man of the Match’ as Virat Kohli-led All Hearts beat All Stars 7-3 at Celebrity Clasico. The money raised from the match had been given to charity.
