MS Dhoni lights up the CSK training session with his helicopter shot

Veteran Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is arguably one of the most popular faces in the Indian cricket. Over the years, he has garnered a huge fan base. His heroics whilst donning the Indian jersey are known to all. Under his leadership, the Indian team lifted all ICC major trophies, including the ICC World Cup 2011, that recently completed its 7th anniversary.

While his fan base in the country is immense, the concentration of his fans go a notch higher when it goes down south. MS Dhoni, who has been a key player for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, is revered as ‘Thala’ by the fans of the franchise. Recently, when the CSK team had a practice session in Chennai, the crowd came in huge numbers to watch the players play.

They were certainly thrilled and entertained to the fullest. Among the lot, the buzz was created the most when Dhoni came in to bat in the net sessions. And the fans absolutely went berserk when MSD treated them with his signature ‘Helicopter Shot’. The former Indian skipper is renowned for the shot that is a flick of the wrists with all the power generated from the bottom hand.

The bowler came in running and bowled a full length delivery. A calm Dhoni is seen whipping the delivery over the midwicket region with the helicopter shot coming out. The video is going viral on the social media and the fans are absolutely loving this build up to the IPL 2018.

Dhoni’s popularity in Chennai can be attributed to the fact that he has been immensely successful as the captain of the franchise. He led the team in the first 8 editions of the tournament in which the team participated. In all the 8 editions, CSK managed to make it to the playoffs. They won the title twice under his leadership.

The franchise had to serve a two-year suspension and that ended Dhoni’s association with CSK. Now, the franchise is back and so in MS Dhoni in the CSK colors.
