Virat Kohli has taken the mantle of captaining Team India from one of the best captains to have ever graced the game. MS Dhoni still plays for India but the shift of captaincy was a tactical decision. Dhoni has won every trophy there is to win in world cricket and has laid a fantastic foundation for the further captains to come in and do the job.

Kohli has played a lot of cricket under his predecessor and has learned a lot. However, the current Indian skipper differs in the style of leading the team. Virat is extremely aggressive in nature and that reflects through his captaincy. He wants to go out there, dominate the opposition and win the matches.

Virat on having Dhoni in the team

The 28-year-old was quite vocal when he was asked about his former captain MS Dhoni in the presser the other day. He was talking about how MS is one of the legends of the game and it is invaluable to have him in the team as a captain. His thoughts are priceless according to the Indian skipper.

Virat said that Dhoni has great observation skill and he picks up small details that affect the game. “It’s priceless to have his thoughts and views on different situations and things that he picks up are really minor. But they make a massive difference in the course of the game or tournament,” Kohli told the reporters.

Seeking Dhoni’s advice

Kohli denied the fact that he agrees on everything MS Dhoni says but understands that both want India to win and end up agreeing. He also talked about how the man from Ranchi is a master at identifying men for the job.

“Identifying who is probably in a better mindset to do a certain job is something that he (Dhoni) has always been a master at and I keep seeking his advice every now and then to make sure that what I am thinking is on the right path.”

“Obviously, we won’t agree to everything, but more often than not we end up agreeing to the same thing because we are thinking in the same manner, which is to make the team win regardless of what we sort of plan,” Kohli added.
