However, MSK Prasad made it clear that Dhoni is not an automatic choice in the team. The legendary skipper does not have a guaranteed place and his performance will be kept an eye upon. Prasad mentioned that the selection committee will track his performance in Sri Lanka just like the others.

What Prasad said:

“[MS] Dhoni is not an automatic choice,” Prasad said of Dhoni. “Let’s see how he [Dhoni] goes,” Prasad added.

By his statement, Prasad gave a clear indication that he is asking the power hitter to perform in the series if he wants to maintain his spot on the team. Prasad also highlighted the fact that Dhoni has been a monumental figure behind Team India’s success. He compared the batsman with Tennis legend Andre Agassi, whose career reached greater heights after crossing the age of 30.

“[Andre] Agassi’s real career only started after age 30. He won many tittles,” Prasad said.
