MS Dhoni had a rough time in the last couple of months. He returned to competitive cricket after a gap of more than 14 months and he didn’t have the greatest of times. The 39-year-old played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In fact, they were the first team to be knocked out of the tournament.

It was also the first time when the Yellow Army failed to make the playoffs of the cash-rich and prestigious league. Their batting in the middle order went under the scanner and faltered in crunch situations. Though the Super Kings ended their campaign with three wins on the trot, it was all too late by then as they were already shown the doors of elimination for the mega event.

Something to cheer for MS Dhoni

Dhoni’s own form wasn’t great by any means. He started batting lower down the order in the first few games and the same drew a lot of criticism. He went up the order, but couldn’t change his fortunes. Nevertheless, the Jharkhand-born had something to cheer after he received a pair of customised Airpods, which had the ‘Balidaan’ insignia on it.

The reaction of happiness can be seen on Dhoni’s face. His love for the Indian Army is well known and he has already served them at the Kashmir Valley last year. In fact, it was on August 15, India’s Independence Day, when he retired from international cricket.

Manav Manglani, a media manager, uploaded a video where Dhoni can be seen unboxing the customised Airpods. He captioned the video and wrote, “The Happiness on #MSdhoni face as he unboxes his brand new customized #airpods is infectious Loving the logo and army print look of his #Airpods ????????”.

Here’s the video:

Last year, Dhoni came to the limelight when he donned the ‘Balidaan’ insignia on his wicketkeeping gloves during an ODI against Australia. In the meantime, Dhoni earlier said that he would be returning for the 2021 edition of the IPL. He put forth the revelations before CSK’s last match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
