Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a hero for the Indian fans from the past ten years, with the Indian team winning the T20 World Cup, the 2011 World Cup for the first team since the famous 1983 World Cup victory under Kapil Dev and the Champions Trophy 2013. Dhoni was also the man behind India’s rise to the No.1 position in Test format.
As part of the children’s day celebrations, the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni gave an interview to Shivangini Chaudhary, a young citizen journalist, who is currently studying in her 4th grade at The Shri Ram School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi.
In an exclusive interview by ThePrint, Dhoni mentioned the importance of sports in his career. The right-hander said that sport always appealed to him. Prior to cricket, Dhoni would play in his school’s football team, where he was the goalkeeper. Apart from cricket and football, he was also an avid badminton player during his school’s annual sports day celebrations.
What was Dhoni’s favourite subject?
However, the most shocking part of the interview was when Dhoni mentioned his favourite subject. When asked which subject he enjoyed the most, the former Indian skipper replied, “That’s a difficult one! I was very good in Maths till class V, and after that algebra and everything came in, and I started playing cricket, so it became slightly tough. So, if I have to pick something, I would say I like Maths, the reason being I was good at it, and even after class VI, though I was quite bad, I loved geometry.”
While all the other school children crib about Math during their school life, Dhoni particularly enjoyed the subject that involves all the calculations and numbers something that has come to his aid as a cricketer as well.
