Former India skipper MS Dhoni has not played an international game since the end of the team’s campaign in the World Cup. India exited the tournament at the semifinal stage after a close loss to New Zealand in the semifinal. MS Dhoni had scored a fighting fifty but it was not enough for the team to cross the finishing line.
As soon as the World Cup got over, the 38-year old had taken a sabbatical from the game to join the Territorial Army in Jammu and Kashmir on July 30. He had trained with the Battalion for two weeks. The legendary cricketer completed his stint on August 15. Consequently, he missed the tour of West Indies where India played three ODIs, three T20Is and a couple of Tests.
Dhoni was expected to return to action during the home series against South Africa but he decided against it. And latest media reports suggest that he would not be a part of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh too. India will play three T20Is against the Tigers next month. Following the T20Is, both the teams will lock horns in a couple of Tests.
Well, the fans finally caught a glimpse of their beloved star when he arrived in the Indian dressing room to talk with the players after the third Test in Ranchi. The BCCI uploaded a photo where Dhoni was seen talking to his state teammate Shahbaz Nadeem who made his debut in the Test.

India thrash South Africa to sweep series
Talking about the game, India beat South Africa by an innings and 202 runs to sweep the three-match series. This is India’s first-ever whitewash over South Africa in Tests. South Africa started the day on 132 for 8 in their second innings. They could add only one run before Shahbaz Nadeem picked up the remaining two wickets. India also extended their perfect start to the Test Championship with this win.
