MS Dhoni has always been the talking point ever since the semi-final of the World Cup last year. He didn’t play any competitive cricket after the mega event and was only seen in the nets for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in March. But the Coronavirus pandemic forced the BCCI to postpone the Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled to begin on March 29, indefinitely.

However, the T20 extravaganza is set to take place now from September 19 to November 8 in the United Arab Emirates. And this should pave the way for MS Dhoni’s return to the field after 14 long months. Rather the CSK players are set to leave as early as the second week of August for the UAE to prepare for the T20 League.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has given his own glimpse to cheer up the fans ahead of his return and the veteran has sported a new look. The wicketkeeper-batsman has preferred to stay away from all the limelight during his time off the field and fans have been desperate to see their hero all this while. The official CSK fans Instagram page posted a picture of Dhoni’s new look with trimmed hair and shaved black beard.

Here’s the post:

Will MS Dhoni play for India again?

The burning question of MS Dhoni’s international future is still unanswered. With the T20 World Cup cancelled, many are speculating that the 39-year-old cricketer’s career has ended and he won’t be playing for India anymore. But the man himself or his family is yet to comment anything on it. It will all depend on how Dhoni plays in the upcoming IPL and then the veteran might take a final call.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Ashish Nehra recently stated that MS Dhoni has played his last match for India. “As much as I know MS Dhoni, he has played his last game for India happily. MS Dhoni has nothing to prove and we, in the media, discuss all these things because he hasn’t announced his retirement. Only he can tell what’s in his head.

“See as far as MS Dhoni’s international career is concerned, I don’t think this IPL has anything to do with it. If you are a captain, a selector or a coach and if MS Dhoni is ready to play, he will be my number one name on the list,” he said.
