Amid the stern situation of coronavirus pandemic spreading its wrath around the globe, the world is under lockdown where people are spending their time in isolation. The whole world has been badly hit by the pandemic and all the cricket boards have also been forced to cancel the scheduled tournaments.
All major tournaments including the much-awaited IPL 2020 have been postponed for an indefinite period and the possibility of their resumption looks bleak at the moment. BCCI is now hoping to find a window in later part of the year to host the league. However, it also depends on the commencement of the T20 World Cup which is scheduled in October in Australia.
Along with the resumption of cricketing activities, fans are also eager to see MS Dhoni back in action on the field. Dhoni’s last competitive game for the Indian cricket team was during the semifinal against New Zealand at the 2019 World Cup. Since then, the wicketkeeper-batsman’s cricket journey has been at a halt, leaving his fans in dismay.
MS Dhoni has been spending his lockdown with his family
Since his absence from the sport, there have been many speculations regarding the 38-year-old’s future. Currently, Dhoni seems not too stressed about the future as he is spending his quarantine time with his family and pets in his farmhouse at Ranchi. The wicketkeeper-batsman has never been active on social media. However, his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva keep sharing entertaining clips and photos of the CSK skipper.
In a video posted by Dhoni’s daughter Ziva on Friday, the ‘Captain Cool’ can be seen running a friendly race with her and also giving catching practice to his pet dog. One thing that caught the attention of every fan was the new bearded look of Dhoni. Fans spotted an unshaven Dhoni who has extensively grown his beard during the lockdown. The 38-year-old is almost unrecognizable due to his grey-bearded look, something that fans have never seen till date.
Despite the postponement of IPL 2020, die-hard fans of MS Dhoni are still hoping for the international comeback of Dhoni. The right-hander was all set to lead CSK in the thirteenth edition of the IPL. However, after the postponement of the tournament, fans will have to wait for a while to witness the comeback of Dhoni. Many fans also believe that Dhoni should be included in India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
