Thando Ntini (Paarl Rocks)
The son of former South African fast bowler, Thando Ntini became the youngest player to be picked up in the wild-card picks. He is another player who has come up the ranks through the Under-19 World Cup. He was in South Africa’s squad in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup and played three games.
Since then, he’s been under the spotlight. The pace-bowling all-rounder has done well in the recent past. In the series against Sri Lanka’s Emerging Players, he picked up seven wickets in three 50-over games. He took a four-wicket haul in the longest format as well. Thus, he was picked up by Paarl Rocks in the wild-card draft.
Hence, quite a few of them will keep an eye on Ntini, given that he is the son of a former fast bowler. Paul Adams has rated him highly and said that Ntini has made a ‘good, steady start and is bowling with decent pace’.
