Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani wins Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Award

Mumbai Indians team owner Nita Ambani was recently awarded the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar. The award is given to individuals for their contribution in the sports field for having motivated or inspired a sporting revolution or success. The Mumbai Indians franchise, which is owner by the Reliance Foundation, has arguably been one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Going by absolute numbers, they are the numero uno side in the premier T20 league of the world. Mumbai Indians is the only team that has won the coveted IPL title thrice in the history of the tournament. They have also lifted the now-defunct Champions League twice. During all these glorious years, they have found ideal support and inspiration from their team owner, Nita Ambani.

Nita, wife of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, has always made it a point to be at the sidelines for almost every game that her side has played in the IPL. Also, she has initiated several social cause movements during the course of the tournament.

The ‘Education for All’ initiative, wherein the underprivileged kids get the right to education is one among such moves. Also, these kids get to see Mumbai Indians in action every year. Nita Ambani was handed over the award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Hardik Pandya tweets congratulatory message

All-rounder Hardik Pandya was quick to wish Nita Ambani on the occasion. Hardik burst out to the big stage through his impressive performances in the IPL. He took to social media platform, Twitter, to congratulate Nita.
