Mumbai Indians have been greeted with a piece of good news as it is learned that their talent scout and wicketkeeping consultant Kiran More has recovered from Covid-19. Ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), defending champions were dealt with a massive blow as More was tested positive for the coronavirus.

As soon as the veteran returned a positive result, he was isolated away from the main squad and all the players and support staff of the franchise were told to undergo Covid-19 tests. MI released an official statement via their Twitter handle to make people aware of the development.

“Mumbai Indians’ scout and wicket keeping consultant Mr. Kiran More has tested positive for Covid-19. Mr. More is currently asymptomatic and has been isolated. Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have followed all the BCCI health guidelines.

“The MI medical team will continue to monitor Mr. More’s health and abide by the BCCI protocols. We would like to remind our fans to be safe and follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviors in these difficult times,” the franchise wrote.

However, Kiran More has now recovered from the deadly virus and has completed his isolation while following all the SOPs laid out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The veteran has also joined the main squad after testing negative for the virus in as many as three coronavirus RT-PCR tests.

Mumbai Indians took to their official Twitter handle to share the good news. “Official Statement: Kiran More has recovered from COVID-19 and has completed medically supervised isolation. More has tested negative in three RT-PCR tests,” Mumbai Indians tweeted.

Coming to Mumbai Indians, the defending champions are experiencing a decent run in the Indian Premier League having won two out of their four league matches. The team is placed at the fourth position in the points table. MI started their campaign with a defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) but scripted a stunning comeback as they registered two consecutive wins against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

However, in their last game against Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Mumbai again succumbed to a defeat by six wickets.
