Mumbai Police uses MS Dhoni's iconic 2011 World Cup final six to spread awareness on the battle against Coronavirus

The entire country is going through a tough time with the outbreak of the coronavirus. At the time of writing this article, the number of positive cases in India has gone past 2,500 and the numbers are likely to get higher with time. In this hour, the government and the authorities are trying their best to keep people at their home and not let them go outside.

Government, medical authorities and police are trying to make sure that crowds are not gathered outside and that the rules of lockdown are completely followed. The Indian government is following a 21-day lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mumbai Police urges everyone to stay home

Mumbai Police, who have been often seen delivering messages to the public with a creative way on social media, tried to use the example of Dhoni’s world cup winning six to keep people from going outside. On the ninth anniversary of the world cup win, Mumbai police posted two pictures of MS Dhoni hitting six on Twitter with the different message for each of the photos.

The first picture showed the date 2 April 2011 with the text: “We sat at home till India successfully chased its target”. The second picture showed the date 2 April 2020 with the text: “We’re sitting at home, waiting for India to chase our target out”.

The caption of the tweet, “India, let’s finish it off in style! #INDvCOVID2020 #TakingOnCorona”. The main objective behind the tweet is to to keep the citizens safe. It also will tell them that they need to stay at home without going outside. The outbreak of COVID-19 only is fought if everybody decides to stay at home, by not going.

Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is one of the worst-hit states in the entire country. The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra is more than 300. That is the most among all the states in India. The number has also risen in the last couple of days.

At the time of writing, there are more than 2500 cases of COVID-19 patients in India with around 72 people who have died due to the contagious disease. A fresh advisory will be given by Government of April 14.
