Mumbai releases the list of probables for 2017-18

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced the list of senior team probables for the season 2017-18. A total of 32 players feature in the list. The most successful team in the history of Ranji Trophy is looking to induct a strong line-up for the upcoming season.

Aditya Tare, the captain and wicketkeeper has been a constant performer for Mumbai. He holds the record for the most number of dismissals in a Ranji season with 41 to his name. He has also been in the thick of runs, amassing 842 runs which featured a double century and three half centuries. Next, comes a star performer, also christened the ‘Hitman’, Rohit Sharma. He is India’s most prolific opener.

On the Ranji front, Rohit has a triple century to his name. The Mumbai camp is bolstered by the presence of Ajinkya Rahane. The right-handed batsman who is also the vice-captain of the Indian team is a soft-spoken lad but is hard with the bat.

The go-to bowler for Mumbai team, Dhawal Kulkarni has been instrumental in their domestic hunt. His first Ranji season saw him bagging a whopping 42 wickets. He helped Mumbai in earning their 40th Ranji title. Kulkarni has been in the Indian team for short bursts.

Mumbai can really fancy their chances with the ball with Shradul Thakur. He had a healthy run in the recently concluded IPL. With his mix of cutters and slow balls, he scalped 22 wickets to his name.

Abhishek Nayar is one of the most prolific batsmen who has rescued Mumbai in crucial encounters. He had amassed 965 runs in the 2012-13 season for Mumbai which included three centuries. Abhishek got a partner batsman in Shreyas Iyer. The Delhi Daredevils player has been the messiah for his IPL team helping them with crucial knocks. He rose to prominence when he hit 908 runs in his maiden first-class season.

These big names will hopefully keep Mumbai in good stead for their upcoming season.
