Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced the Mumbai team squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2017. Syed Mushtaq Ali is the premier interstate T20 league of the Indian domestic circuit. The tournament kick starts of January 29 this year at Baroda. The Mumbai team is a juggernaut in the domestic circuit and had recently finished as the finalists in the Ranji Trophy 2016-17. They lost to Gujarat in the finals of India’s most coveted domestic championship.

With the changing formats, the team will now be keen to put up another brilliant show and perhaps end up taking the silverware. The 15 man squad for the tournament was announced by Secretary of the MCA on Wednesday. Aditya Tare, who led the team in the Ranji Trophy this year, has been named as the captain of the side for the T20 tournament too. Tare is a prolific wicketkeeper-batsman who has shown his exploits in the IPL for Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane will also be plying his trade this season. Young promising opener Shreyas Iyer will be the opener for the side. Armaan Jaffer, who has excelled at the U19 levels and other age groups, has also been rewarded with a cap this season. Mumbai’s most experienced all-rounder in the setup, Abhishek Nayar, will hold the middle order duties for the team.

Pravin Tambe, the man who is a T20 specialist, has also been named in the side. The pace attack looks relatively weak compared to the star-studded batting line-up. Aditya Dhumal, Rohan Raje and Prathamesh Dake have found themselves in the 15 man squad. Here is the complete list of 15 man squad of
