Quirky celebrations and modern-day cricket are the two terms that go hand in hand. Be it the bowlers, batsmen or the fielders. Every individual who is a part of the play is often seen to work out his or her own unique way of celebrating milestones. And, this time around it was the Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batsmen, Mushfiqur Rahim, who hogged the headlines for his celebration after scoring his double century.
While playing in a Test match against Zimbabwe, the Bangladesh team, owing to great performances by their batting order, posted a score of 560 for the loss of 6 wickets and declared their inning closed. The main contributors to this mammoth total were– the captain of the team Mominul Haque and the wicketkeeper Mushfiqur. The duo put on a 200-plus run stand and propelled their team to a massive total.

But, the thing that made news in this inning was, Mushfiqur’s celebration after he completed his double century. After getting past the milestone, he was seen emulating a dragon with his mouth wide open, eyes popping out and hands positioned like claws.
When asked about this he told, that since his son loved dragons, so when he reached his double ton, he decided to do the gesture for him. He said– “The celebration was for my son. He loves dragons so much, he likes this posture. So I did it for him.”
Mushfiqur and his mates are known for their peculiar celebrations and this was just an example of that. But, this time around, he must have been genuinely happy, given that his team is in a great position in the match.

And, in their second attempt, they are not doing exactly well. At the end of the third day, the Zimbabwe side had just 9 runs on the board in the five overs they had faced and had already lost 2 wickets.
