22-year old Mustafizur Rahman is one of the most promising prospects in Bangladesh cricket. He bowled exceptionally well during the 2nd Test match, picking up four wickets, even though the home team failed to win the match. Bangladesh won the 1st Test by 20 runs bu failed to defend the lead, and was outplayed by the visitors. Nathan Lyon scalped 22 wickets in the series, while David Warner scored hundreds in each Test match.

The Bangladesh pacer is just 6 Test match old but Rahman is a big match player and has already made a name for himself. The pacer has scalped 17 wickets in Tests and 44 in ODIs. He is an integral part of the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Have to find a variation: Rahman

I have to find a new variation. I have the cutter but now I have to do something new. I usually don’t bowl the bouncers. I have only played for two years so I am trying to land two bouncers in an over. I have trained for a little while so I haven’t got the hang of it yet. I am bowling faster but I have to do something about the line and length,” Mustafizur told the media during the post-day press conference.

“I bowled in the right areas, possibly four in every over. Some didn’t pitch in line. I didn’t have to change my line or length from [Tuesday],” he said.

No love lost

Even though the series was hard fought, but there is no love lost between the two sides. The pacer celebrated his 22nd birthday 4 days back, and when asked about the celebrations, the soft-spoken fast bowler said there is a WhatsApp group, featuring all the Sunrisers Hyderabad players. And interestingly, their skipper in the IPL and the deputy of Australian team Warner wished him too.
