Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has revealed his desire to win the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup for India despite being out of form. The right-hander has been going through a rough patch of form and has not scored a century in the last three years in international cricket. He has got starts and half centuries but has failed to get to the three-figure landmark, which he is used to doing on a consistent basis in the past.

The 33-year-old recently played in the tour of England, but could not make a big score in the limited overs series or the longer format. With the T20 World Cup coming up this October, and the 50-over World Cup next year, Kohli’s form is always going to be crucial and his match-winning abilities can never be underestimated.

Kohli wasn’t named in the limited-overs squads for the West Indies tour but is likely to be back for the Asia Cup which is scheduled to take place in UAE from the 27th of August to the 11th of September. While questions have been raised over Kohli’s place in the squad, he has responded by stating that his primary is to win the next big tournaments for India. He also added that he is ready to do anything that the team requires from him.

“My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup and for that I am ready to do anything for the team,” Kohli told in a statement released by Star Sports on Twitter.

Kohli has fallen out of the top three batters in the ODI format in ICC rankings after a long time and he is no longer, dominating the rankings in any format. He has found different ways to be dismissed and his change in stance hasn’t helped the cause either. However, several fans and experts reckon he is likely to be back in form for India soon.
