'My man, you legend' - David Warner shares a heartfelt picture with Kane Williamson post Australia's T20 WC triumph

David Warner and Kane Williamson were on the opposing sides on the eve of the finals of the T20 World Cup 2021, but they together have given some memorable moments to cherish to the SRH fans. It is evident by the fact that Warner has often posted pictures with his SRH teammate. He has yet again exuded the special bond between them by posting a heartfelt picture of them post Australia’s World Cup victory.

Australia displayed some great promise to dominate the proceedings in the mega event. The team locked horns with New Zealand in the summit clash and lifted the trophy by successfully chasing the target  of 173. After the victory, the Men in Yellow’s star batter Warner took to his official Instagram account to share a picture with the Black Caps’ skipper.

Before the high-profile clash in the final, Williamson had an ordinary tournament. However going by the saying ‘Cometh the hour, cometh the champion’, he exuded great character to play an important knock and helped the Kiwis post a respectable total on the board. He scored 85 runs off 48 runs in the crucial game and showed his pure class to the cricketing world.

Thus, post the finals, Warner took it to his official Instagram handle to heap praises on Williamson. He shared a picture wherein the duo are hugging each other after the end of the match. Along with the picture he also wrote a fitting caption which read, “My man, you legend.”

The picture fetched a lot of attention as the netizens were overwhelmed by it. It went all viral on social media platforms wherein the cricket on-lookers adored the mutual respect the two players have between them.

David Warner was given the Man of the Tournament award. After having experienced a lean patch with the willow in the IPL, he bounced back stronger to pile up huge runs. His good form came in as a big positive for Australia in the multi-nation tournament. The batter chipped in with 289 runs from seven matches at a healthy average of 48.16.

About the match, after having won the toss, Australia opted to bowl first at the Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand posted a competitive target of 173 runs for the Aaron Finch-led side. Warner’s half-century and a splendid innings from Mitchell Marsh helped Australia to lift their maiden T20 World Cup trophy.
