Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer turns 44 today, and he is certainly portrayed to be one of the active personalities on social media. Jaffer played 31 Tests for India from the period of 2000 to 2008 and was a run machine in first-class cricket for years having scored 19410 runs at an average of over 50.
He announced his retirement two years back from all forms of cricket and is currently part of a lot of shows as an analyst or commentator. With wishes pouring in from all over the world for Jaffer, former England captain Michael Vaughan showed up as well taking a dig at the Indian batter with a sarcastic tweet.
Vaughan has been very vocal in his thoughts and comments on social media and has been under scrutiny at times for being honest with his thoughts.
Wasim Jaffer comes up with the perfect response
Vaughan took a dig at Jaffer by claiming the latter as his first Test wicket on his birthday. However, Jaffer was quick to respond by stating that Vaughan as his permanent bunny on social media. Both these cricketers have been involved in funny banters in the past and have a lot of respect for each other as well.
However, this conversation left the fans in splits and it will be interesting to see if Vaughan comes up with another response.”Happy birthday to my first Test match wicket @WasimJaffer14 !!” Vaughan had tweeted. “Haha thank you my permanent social media wicket” Jaffer replied to the post.

As far as the on-fied record is concerned, Vaughan is considered to be one of England’s greatest captains in history and he played 82 Tests scoring 5719 runs at an average of 41.4 and scoring 18 centuries in the process. Notably, Vaughan was a useful off-spinner as well and has picked up six Test wickets overall in his career in which Jaffer succumbed to him in the second innings of the Lord’s Test in 2002.
