Though the Champions Trophy final ended on a positive note for the Pakistan cricket team is was not the same for Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Najam Sethi. The PCB chief was a subject of abuse from PTI supporters throughout the match and was even manhandled by them after the same.

PTI is a political party founded by legendary Pakistan all-rounder Imran Khan. PTI stands for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and the supporters were seen yelling slogans during the course of the match.

According to reports, people even saw Sethi being roughed up by supporters of the PTI. Najam Sethi took to Twitter to confirm the fact that he was manhandled and ill-treated by a group of people following the PTI but thanked the police for his rescue.

The PCB Chief was taken out unharmed by the security at the Kennington Oval which prevented any physical damage. It seems that the guilty will escape without punishment because of the huge number of audience present at the venue yesterday.

About the match:

However, Pakistan silenced their critics in outstanding fashion as they crushed India in a one-sided match to lay their hands upon the Champions Trophy for the first time. Heroics with the willow in hand from Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez took Pakistan to a mammoth total of 338 runs for the loss of just four wickets. The Pakistani batting display was wonderfully supported by their bowling department with Mohammad Amir clearly grabbing the limelight.

Mohammad Amir shook the Indian batting line up early from the root as he grabbed the wickets of Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli with outstanding deliveries. Amir finished the match with 3 wickets and was tremendously economical along with Hasan Ali who also managed to claim 3 wickets in the match. Bundling India out for just 158 runs, Sarfraz Ahmed led his side successfully to an emphatic victory.
