Nawaz Sharif awards Rs20m to Blind Cricket council to host WC

After showering the Pakistan Cricket Team with affluence after their historic win in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in a noble cause, spared as many as Rs 20 million to the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) to host the Blind Cricket World Cup of 2018 scheduled to be held at Sharjah and Pakistan. The event is supposed to commence from January 10th of 2018 and would be concluded on 25th of the first month of 2018.

Pakistan Prime Minister recently felicitated the victorious Pakistani squad after their win in the Champions Trophy held in England. He awarded each and every player in the squad with a hefty sum of money along with various accolades. Sharif also spared a large sum of money to the three stalwarts of Pakistan Cricket, Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, and Misbah ul Haq, who have served the nation for last two decade and a half and recently retired from the game of cricket. Nawaz Sharif recently directed Pakistan Chairman Shahryar Khan not to plead in front of any country to play cricket in Pakistan. He further stated that those who want to play in their country would visit themselves

4 teams concerned about playing in Pakistan

“A total of Rs50m is required to host the Blind Cricket World Cup, and we have also requested the Punjab government and our other sponsors for their support in this regard” mentioned PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah to APP while thanking the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif for his generosity.

“As many as eight teams who are World Blind Cricket (Ltd) full members have been invited to participate in the World Cup. Those teams include Australia, West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.” further continued Syed Sultan Shah. He later mentioned that out of the eight teams only four have agreed to play in Pakistan while the others have exhibited concerns to play in the country.
