Mitchell McClenaghan was involved in a Q&A with fans

During this session, one of the Indian fans asked the fast bowler who was his favourite player in the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. The fast bowler from New Zealand didn’t take much time to respond in answer the question. according to him his favourite player of the franchise is Ben Cutting, the Australian all-rounder.

Ben Cutting was the part of Sunrisers Hyderabad for two seasons in 2016 and 2017. The all-rounder from Queensland was an integral part of the side which lifted the IPL trophy in 2016. Interestingly, the highlight of his IPL career would be his performance in the final of 2016.

Playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Cutting scored 39 runs off 15 balls with four sixes and three fours. He also took the crucial wickets of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in that match. Sunrisers went onto win the tight final by just 4 runs and lift the trophy for the first and only time.

Ben Cutting joined Mumbai Indians in 2018. McClenaghan and Cutting had together played for the Mumbai Indians in the previous two seasons. The all-rounder had, in fact, played for the side during the triumph in 2019 as well. But he was released before 2020 Auctions.

Unfortunately, the charismatic all-rounder did not find any buyers in the 2020 IPL. The all-rounder has announced his retirement from first-class and List A cricket to focus on T20 cricket. Cutting plays for various franchises across the globe.
