India bounced back like a champion side to beat England by 151 runs in the second Test match at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. With their backs against the wall on day five, India produced a courageous performance led by bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, who allowed skipper Virat Kohli to go for an unlikely win.

Kohli’s aggressive style of captaincy coupled with India bowlers’ disciplined bowling shocked England as they never recovered from Shami and Bumrah onslaught. Former India batter Wasim Jaffer, who always comes with epic tweets to celebrate any of India’s famous victories, came up with a legendary tweet this time as well.

To start things with, Jaffer tweeted a moment from the movie ‘In pursuit of happyness’ after India’s memorable win.

He later used Independence Day for reference and said to never mess with Indians, “If 15th August has taught anything to the British, it is to never mess with Indians after 15th August,” Jaffer tweeted.

After that, he posted another tweet involving opener KL Rahul, to which he took reference from Sachin Tendulkar’s quote to congratulate the Indian side for their epic victory. “To borrow a quote from @sachin_rt, “People throw stones, you turn them into milestones”. This is a milestone victory, congratulations @imVkohli and Team India,” he tweeted.

For his last tweet, Jaffer used Rahul’s picture and compared the Indian team with a pack of wolves. There were some heated words exchanged between few England and India players during day four and day five of the Lord’s Test match. “KL Rahul: “If you go after one of our guys all eleven will come right back!” The wolf is the strength of the pack. The pack is the strength of the wolf. And this pack of wolves did some glorious hunting today,” wrote Jaffer.

Virat Kohli feels the on-field banter with England motivated them to go for the win

“The way we played in the second innings after being put under pressure – Jasprit and Shami were outstanding. We had the belief we can get them out in 60 overs. A bit of tension on the field really motivated us to finish the game,” Kohli said after India’s 151-run win.
