The inclusion of opener Jeet Raval in place of Martin Guptill was a big one. The left-handed batsman of Indian origin was first picked in the Black Caps in July and will finally make his Test debut this week against Pakistan.

Raval has been in great tough in past couple of seasons and the new of his call-up was making constant round. Raval earned a tour of Africa after averaging 59.8 in Plunket Shield last season, this season the left-hander averaged 40.7 in six Plunket Shield innings. This will be huge series for the free-hitting batsman.
