Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies left-handed batsman, got engaged to his girlfriend Alyssa Miguel and he was on cloud 9. The southpaw had a hectic time in the last two months, staying in the bio-secure bubble during the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the T20 tournament, he plied his trade for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), led by KL Rahul.

Though his team couldn’t make the playoffs, Pooran impressed with some match-winning knocks in crisis. He also caught the eyes with some spectacular pieces of fielding and drew praises even from the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Over the last two years, the left-hander from Trinidad has established himself as a specialist in the white-ball formats for his national team.

As far as his engagement is concerned, he uploaded a picture where he can be seen, bending on one knee and inserting the ring into the fingers of his loved one.

Pooran, without a doubt, was overjoyed by the development. He captioned the picture and wrote, “God has blessed us with a great blessing. I am glad to announce that @kathrina_miguel and I got engaged. Love you Migz I got you.”

Thereafter, Pooran was showered with wishes from the cricket fraternity, Anil Kumble, the head coach of KXIP, dropped in his wishes for the youngster. Kumble replied and wrote, “Congratulations NickyP! God bless you both.”

Jason Holder, the West Indies Test skipper, also lauded the duo on their engagement. Holder wrote, “Man oh man. LOVE is pure! Congrats to you both.”

Kieron Pollard, the Caribbean limited-overs captain, didn’t forget to wish the couple either. He wrote, “The professional … congrats.”

Pooran’s ladylove also dropped the same picture with a caption which read, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11. Being loved by you is a blessing I thank God everyday for. Love you @nicholaspooran.”

Pooran and Alyssa are pretty active on the social media platforms, sharing pictures of their camaraderie on a regular basis. On a number of instances, the duo clicked themselves, sharing some cosy moments, giving a glimpse of their love and admiration for each other.
