Former Australian pacer Brett Lee showered his praises for India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving a letter on the occasion of Republic Day and he couldn’t resist posting the letter on Twitter. India celebrated its 73rd Republic Day four days back on January 26 and a lot of cricketers including the likes of West Indies legend Chris Gayle congratulated the country on its special eve.
Brett Lee, who is one of the popular names in India has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Punjab franchise in IPL in the past. His friendly nature has been loved around the world and is among the best fast bowlers to have played the game. He is currently part of the World Giants in the ongoing Legends League Cricket where a lot of cricketers from the past have been taking part.

Lee was quite delighted to receive the letter from Prime Minister Modi and expressed his gratitude through his post on Twitter. He also explained the love for India and its people and finished the note with a late wish for Republic day. The 45-year-old had recently revealed his opinion on Virat Kohli stepping down from Test captaincy and claimed 4-5 cricketers to be among the contenders at the moment.

Lee made his international debut in 1999 and he had a phenomenal career in the international arena as he clocked speeds above 145 Kmph consistently. He represented Australia in 76 Tests, 221 ODIs and 25 T20Is and he managed to pick up 618 international wickets at an impressive average as well. The right-arm quick is playing in the finals of the inaugural season of Legends League Cricket against the Asia Lions.
