The 1st Practice match will be played between New Zealand A team and the West Indies at the John Davies Oval at Queenstown.
The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 AM Local Time (03:30 AM IST) and will not be streamed live in India. The scorecard and updates will be available on New Zealand Cricket’s official website.
Playing their first game of the tour to New Zealand will be the West Indies team when they face off against the New Zealand A team in a practice game starting from November 20. While New Zealand have included only one capped player in their team, the West Indies team will be going in with a fully packed squad.
The West Indian players will be holding an upper hand over their inexperienced counterparts in this game as they hold a lot of experience with them. This encounter would be a great learning opportunity for the players of the New Zealand A team as they would have a chance to express themselves without having much at stake.
NZ-A vs WI Weather Report for Match 1:
The weather in Queensland on the day of the match is expected to be clear with periodic clouds covering the skies. The chance of rainfall happening is very slim and the temperature will be around the 18 degree Celsius mark.
The pitch at this venue has historically favoured the batters in the second innings in the handful of limited overs international matches that have been played here. So, according to this, in this match, opting to bowl first would be a viable option considering that this is a multi-day affair.
