Twitterati roast Sarfraz Ahmed for his hilarious dismissal in the first T20I

The Pakistan skipper was the talk on Twitter following a rather amusing dismissal.

New Zealand won the first T20 international against Pakistan by 7 wickets. Nothing is going right for Pakistan on this tour. Earlier, they were whitewashed in the 5-match One Day International series. And, with the first T20I going against their way, they will now have to fight hard to make a comeback in this series.

Also, the pitch for this match seemed very usual for a T20 game. It was pacy and had some uneven bounce to make the life of the batsmen difficult. Pakistan was down to 38/6 after just 9.2 overs. At that stage, it looked tough for them to even put 75 runs on the board. But, it took a very gritty fight from Babar Azam and Hassan Ali to get them past 100.

Moreover, the home team had a big advantage, knowing the target they have to chase. It was a very good toss for them to win. Brave innings from Colin Munro and Ross Taylor steered them past the line. The Kiwis chased down 106 in just 15.5 overs on a pitch that was difficult to bat on. Munro scored 49 off 43 deliveries and was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his valuable innings.

Twitterati made a mockery of Sarfraz Ahmed’s dismissal

Pakistan’s skipper has had tough times with the bat of late. He has not been among the runs and his form has deteriorated over the months. Even in today’s game, he got out stumped after he slipped trying to sweep a delivery of Mitchell Santner. Sarfraz Ahmed departed only after scoring nine runs leaving his side in deep troubles.

As usual, Twitter found Ahmed’s dismissal very funny. They termed his dismissal as ‘hilarious’. He looked absolutely buffoonery at the way he got out. Sarfraz sized down to sweep a ball. He went low and dragged his back leg. In this process, he lost his balance as the ball slid under his bat. He had no chance of recovering. He did a split there.
